Hats Off To Fashion Milliner Maison Michel- A True Pioneer

Deep down, if we’re being honest with ourselves, we all want to be hat people. It’s the ultimate accessory that exudes confidence and sophistication.

For the past century, Maison Michel has refined the craft of hat making since its start in1936 to collaborating with Chanel. Today, Maison is a runway label for men and women both on and off the catwalk.

From lace veils to crystal strewn hats, Maison Michel delivers an incredible range of headwear for everyday adornment or statement special occasions. The hat making craft references strong Parisian roots combined with cutting edge technology carrying elegance and steadfast tradition that enhances the brand a century after conception. The design process involves an old technique of stretching the headwear on tilia wood blocks and reshaping them until they are absolutely perfect.

“A Hat Is The New Tattoo.”

Priscilla Royer…

creative director of Maison Michel since 2015, discovered her adroit talent for handmade accessories at a young age. What began as handmade couture socks for her Barbie dolls, led her to atelier vocation at the young age of 31. Reflecting on the design process, she declares, "I try them all on and take selfies with them, it allows me to check the look they give, to imagine the look that would match them ... My approach to the hat is very spontaneous," she explains. “If a piece doesn't appeal to you, it's because it's not successful: technique should never take precedence over fashion.”
