This Not Your Average Healer: Meet Daniel Tuttle, The Provocative Intuitive
Let The Healing Begin!
At Cara Woodhouse Interiors we’re all about leveling up and going deep with every project we take on. BUT, in order to do so, it’s important to get our minds in tip-top shape. For this, we turn to our prolific healer, transformational speaker, and dear friend Daniel Tuttle A.K.A. The Provocative Intuitive. In working with Daniel, he has imparted his gifts and practices for manifestation and intuitive healing into daily life at CWI, which has infinitely expanded how we communicate with clients, spaces, and the world. His astute (and, let’s be honest, straightforward!) ability to champion his clients toward the path they’re searching for has cemented him as a true leader in his field. We feel beyond lucky to be able to bask in the light of this incredible human’s glow and wanted to share a bit of his magic with our readers. Here, we tapped into what makes this conductor of energy tick….
Tell me about your journey to becoming an intuitive healer.
When I was a kid, I was always busy with my “Imaginary Friends”, curiously and feverishly creating different worlds and realities with them all. Most adults around me would politely say “He’s very creative.” As an only child, I think there is a collective belief that we are lonely and spoiled. I was definitely not lonely, and I would say I was “generously loved.” It was also around that time I remember people began telling me that there was something special about my hands and that when I touched someone it made them feel cared for, or safe. I channeled my intuitive and empathic gifts into entertainment and pursued a career as a performer from a very young age. Around that time, I remember Shirley MacLaine was on Oprah one afternoon. I was about 10 years old, and I sat glued to the TV. She spoke about reincarnation like Nancy Reagon spoke about getting hooked on drugs. It was a fact. I aligned so much with Shirley’s interview that I knew I needed more, and wanted more, but at 10 years old to go tell your parents you want to learn about reincarnation and meditation was not exactly fodder for an 80’s kid who played with He-Man and Danced around his bedroom to “Like a Virgin.”
My desire to learn more led me to what was called the “New Age” section of the local book stores at the Mall. My mom would let me run off and do my own thing at the mall and most of the time I would run to that shelf. I would sit on the carpet of Walden books and learn about Astrology, Reincarnation and the 7 Chakras. I recall one time being so engrossed in a book about Astral Projection that I slipped the book in my pants as the store was closing. A week later, after I finished the book, I returned it. Even then I knew karma was a bitch. Around the same time, my amazing eccentric aquarian aunt, Brennie, had bought Shirley MacLaine Meditation VHF and left it for me on one of her visits. I remember I was obsessed with that video, about learning meditation and communicating with the metaphysical world. I went on to study many different spiritual practices while pursuing a career in Entertainment, including the wisdom of Kabbalah for 18 years.
In 2015, frustrated with my life and my connection to my truth - my infinite being - I began to beg the universe to show me a master to learn from and to train with. As are all of the Universe's gifts, the master was right in front of me the whole time, but I wasn’t ready for her until that divine moment. Her name is Sara. In my first meeting with her she said to me “Daniel, you are a healer”. I had been to Psychics, Mystics, Shamas who all had said the same thing to me, but when Sara said it to me, it took me back to exactly how I felt watching Shirley on Oprah at 10 years old. This is your truth, and you must learn everything possible.
Give us a peek into your day. What does your routine look like from wake up to wind down?
I wake up around 7 am, watch the sunrise outside my window, say a prayer of gratitude to the creator, kiss my partner, make coffee, and then Every morning at 8:45 am (EST) I lead a 15-minute meditation on zoom called “The Daily Download” with a group of like-minded like-hearted individuals who subscribe to my program, LIVE ALIVE. Then I make breakfast with my partner, Guillermo, and we talk about our dreams from the night before and talk about the day ahead (He is now the Director of Marketing and Social Media at The Provocative Intuitive) then I begin seeing clients (Appx 3-4 a day). Between sessions, I will often carve out a swim or gym time to nurture my body!
Some evenings I teach classes or lead workshops and three times a week I have a Spanish Tutor who is very patient with me. Guillermo and I always meet back for dinner and lately we have been closing the evenings off with “Sex Education” (Netflix!)
You’re located in Mexico City—What energizes and excites you about calling this city home?
I am obsessed with Art and have been my whole life. I live right down the street from Casa Azul, the former home and now museum of Frida Kahlo and where she spent much of her life with lover, Diego Rivera. The Art scene here is INSANELY ridiculous, in every sense of the word. We have some of the world's top museums that house some of the world’s most major exhibitions.
Since moving here, I have become obsessed with Aztec and Mayan cultures, so I love going to historical places like Teotihuacan, the home of the Pyramid of the Sun and The moon. Then there is the food. Mexican food has always been my favorite cuisine, but nothing is better than Mexican food IN MEXICO. Guillermo’s Mom and their family still hold the prize for the best meal in town. All that being said, I think the most inspiring thing about living here though are the people. They are so amazingly warm and kind, super passionate and dramatic (like me) and sexy—even the Abuelitas selling churros on the streets are sexy.
Tell me about your process when developing new program offerings for clients. What’s the vibe like in your studio? Music? Creating at Day/Night?
Everything I create is not mine at all, there is no structure or form here as I receive everything directly from the creator. I get inspired to create something, I tell the team and we do it. Sometimes I will get an awareness of a name for a class or workshop, I’ll ask the creator when I should offer it and then we create a flyer for it. Guillermo starts promoting it, and I show up - Most of the time, not even knowing what it will be about fully until just before it begins and people start engaging energetically with it. I am so obsessed with perfume, I have hundreds of them, so in my studio I have tons of perfumes lined up. One will inspire me, or draw me to it, and then ill sit with the energy of it or the memory it brings up, from this lifetime or past and then that helps to inspire creation. I also love to write poetry. We are working on turning my vast library of poetry into Tik Tok Videos. Let’s see.
Talk to me about working with clients. What's the process like when doing this one-on-one work?
Usually, when someone schedules a session with me they have heard from someone else what I do or have seen videos I have done on the web, but in the event that they haven’t, I begin to engage them about their conscious beliefs and perceptions about their life, the world and the people in it. Consciousness creates our reality. What we believe we will receive, but the pesky little fucker in this equation is our subconscious mind and the beliefs it holds from our childhood, from our ancestors, and even our past life lessons. When someone is not manifesting what they want in their lives, we know it’s because of a subconscious belief.
Next, I will ask them what they want to manifest in their lives, give them about 20 minutes to speak about it, and then we will do an intuitive reading and body scan. This process then opens the door to unlocking these limiting beliefs and we begin to have a dialogue about them, ask them a few questions, and then we transform them using whatever tools I am inspired to use with them. We close every session co-witnessing their new reality manifested in their lives.
When it comes to connection and transformation (within ourselves and the world around us) do we all possess the ability to tap into our higher selves? Are there any simple practices we can apply to our daily lives?
Yes. EVERYONE has the ability to connect to their intuition and their higher selves. Like with every practice, like Yoga or going to the gym or mastering any art, it takes commitment and an openness to see the impossible as possible. Yes, there are simple practices everyone can start doing now and the most powerful one that I share with every client is to live in the question without having to formulate an answer and being completely open to what shows up in your life! What does this mean? Try this: As you go about your day, instead of judging things or people, or drawing conclusions about something as right or wrong, good for bad - begin to ask the universe; “What is this? What can I do with it? Can I change it? And What is it contributing to my being?” Most people want to find and look for the answer immediately, but the opportunity to let go and allow the universe to show you. Your discoveries will change your reality forever.
What do you want people to take away from your practice?
What would it take for you to live your life by being so provocatively YOU, that you inspired others to do the same and the world was changed forever?
If there could only be one takeaway from the work that you do, what would that message be and why?
In the words of one of my favorite books and movies: The Help, “You is Kind. You is Smart. You is Important.”
