Float Away On Your Next Getaway: Guntû Floating Hotel

If you still have friends from college, consider yourself lucky. But if you still have friends from childhood and you developed a floating hotel together, combining your passions for yachting and the sea - consider yourself Guntû. “Enjoy your stay” is an understated declaration during this truly unique and memorable experience through the Setouchi islands of Japan.

Welcome Aboard!

Named after the Japanese local crab, Guntû is the first of its kind. The floating hotel is part yacht, part ryokan and 100% bliss. Twin electric propulsion engines minimize sound and vibration, allowing the natural scenery and comfortable stay to coexist harmoniously. The design takes a minimalist, contemporary approach of wood and glass - crafted by regional workmen, allowing the stunning views of sea and sky be the main focal point for each guest. Everything from structural materials to the textile dye down to the fresh ingredients incorporated in every mouth watering dish is sourced locally. Enjoy both local and western cuisine during your serene stay but don’t expect any tuna or salmon in your sushi rolls (they’re not local!).

When you’re not island hopping to Naoshima and Teshima or visiting ancient temples and villages, indulge in a massage or facial treatment of your choice in the on-site spa or get your workout in the gym while you watch the clouds dance across the indigo water below. But of course, it is your vacation after all so feel free to stay in your extra large suite in your crisp cotton kimono while sipping your favorite cocktail or fresh ginger juice. Whatever floats your hotel boat.
