From Fashion Couture To Runway-Worthy Tableware: Discover Henry Holland

While the world was baking banana bread in their sweatpants, fashion designer Henry Holland took a break from couture to dive into his passion for pottery. Perhaps something to serve all that banana bread on. Starting out creating each shape by hand, a star (or bowl) was born - along with a new way we connect to beautiful personal items that are made with love.

It feels like yesterday we were all stuck inside our homes during quarantine. Some of us dove into Netflix and other of us reinvented ourselves - finding new passions down creative roads. Holland found that working with his hands was incredibly therapeutic during what could be called the most stressful and uncertain modern time. The slow, meditative process of creating each piece by hand using stacking, rolling and folding techniques while adding signature color patterns molded the way for Holland to express his creativity while producing uniquely shaped tableware for all and eventually collaborating with household name brands like Soho Home, Floor Story and Liberty London. Each and every tableware creation is purposely crafted to upgrade the meal in which it holds. The extra large chalice bowls made from earthenware clay and finished in high gloss highlight the color and pattern, making it a true centerpiece statement. The signature mug design is pulled from Art Deco inspiration with distinct semicircular handles. Layer your plates, bowls and mugs in juxtaposing colors and patterns for the full Holland effect.

“To contribute to someone’s personal environment in this way, to be treasured, and to build treasured things, that’s the kind of connection we are all looking for.”

-Henry Holland
