Strolling along quaint cobblestone streets surrounded by Haussmann architecture and the smell of croissants wafting in the air, Paris welcomed us with warm open arms. After wrapping up a successful Milan Design Week, we jetted off for Paris Design Week and attended Maison & Objet. The show was robust and brands were clever and creative with their experiential displays created to exhibit their product lines. The je ne sais quoi of the city made the inspired discoveries even more enchanting. Take a peek at some of our favorite discoveries made with the help of our curator friends at In The Pursuit.

MAISON SARAH LAVOINE

No trip to Paris is ever complete without a drop in to Maison Sarah Lavoine for some dreamy interior inspiration. The brand boasts a few showrooms around the city, but we prefer to pop into the one on Place des Victoires and indulge in a delicious lunch post shopping. This year the arbiter of style expanded her lighting collection with clever, candy-colored lighting and killer statement-making sconces along with an array of jewel-hued decorative accents.

SHOW STOPPERS

OOUMM

On display at Maison & Objet, these modern marble masterpieces have been stopping us in our tracks for years! The original designs combined with complementary materials are the perfect accoutrements to any space. During the show, the chic brand debuted their latest signature scents—including Cara’s favorite fragrance Erakis—that are simply divine!

GALERIE DIURNE

Inspired and created in tribute to Italian mosaic artists, the Cosmati Collection translates this art onto wool and silk for textural interest. The series of five distinct rugs encapsulates the effects of a true mosaic—silk for the precious and luminous pieces and a matte wool ground for the bed that hosts them. Brought to life by Charles Zana who collaborated with Diurne to offer a discerning quality in order to accurately capture this ancient art form. Photo courtesy Galerie Diurne

LAURA GONZALEZ x
GALERIE VAUCLAIR

Located in the heart of the Rive Gauche on Rue de Beaune is the treasure trove Galerie Vauclair, where the walls are flecked with custom Fromental wallcoverings and each furnishing tells a richly steeped story of artistry and craft. And, during Paris Design Week, the enchanting showroom enlisted famed interior architect and designer Laura Gonzalez on a special exhibition, Lucky Fish. “We mix all the Vauclair treasures with our pieces,” she says. “Here the iconic madras armchair was painted by hand by Atelier Roma Paris, flirting with the most sexy fish screen upholstered with a vintage Turkish carpet.” Below are a few other stellar pieces from the collaboration.
