Mind Blown By Curio Hand Blown Glassware

The art of hand blown glassware undergoes an age old process with the result being unique to each item - making it even more treasured by those who obtain it. After all, a classic never dies. Curio celebrates this timeless craft without the use of factory mounds and takes only half the credit of each masterpiece. Nature takes the rest.

PASSION, SKILL…

and a tremendous amount of patience goes into the glassblowing process. First, an artisan applies heat, then creates a gob. The mold is then shaped with a marver. After that, the artist then of course blows into it, which gives its final shape and then finally the cooling and setting take place. What we are left with is a functional piece of art that is both elegant and of-the-moment. If that moment could be frozen in time.

Every stunning vase, bowl or glass shape is contingent upon the elements. Lighting and position manipulate the glass in such a way that can alter the translucency or boldness of its color. Curio is known for its signature speckled pattern, which is completed by an organic layering process that allows the glassware to play with light and cast shadows. Like pebbles resting stationary in a clear river bed, every glass blown item is inspired by mother nature herself and her free spirit of which it pulls inspiring free flow from.
