Daring to color a bit outside of the lines and borders in comparison to most fashion illustrators, Katie Rodgers is not only a wizard with a paintbrush, but her measure beholds an eclectic range of materials to decorate and embellish her art, including sequins, beads, glittery sparkles and makeup. Her work is bold and saturated with color and imagination—oftentimes evoking a three dimensional portrait that emphasizes texture and definition but always remain consistently refined in composition. Dripping with elegant star catchers and shadow dancers, her watercolors whisper of old glamour and the beautiful mystery of a child’s imagination. Particularly her own.

“There are more curves and fluidity to drawing the female figure, but beyond that I am a woman and feel more connected to it. It’s something I know personally. There’s something very strong and beautiful about being a woman.”
